Buckeye Health Plan MyCare Member Eligibility Verification

  • Due to eligibility data issues, some Buckeye MyCare members received incorrect ID cards in January identifying them as Opt-In members (full duals) when in fact they are Opt-Out members (Buckeye Medicaid only).
  • Buckeye is moving quickly to send corrected ID cards and is also making calls to these members to advise them and address any questions or concerns.

Prior Authorization Required For CMS-Designated Medications

  • CMS/Medicare regulations require Medicare Prescription Drug plans to monitor the use of drugs which pose a higher risk to individuals more than 64 years old. To help ensure patient safety, Anthem requires prior authorization for certain high-risk medications.
  • To ensure providers are aware of any high-risk medications prescribed for individual and group-sponsored MA members, Anthem sends a fax to providers when their patients fill a prescription for a high-risk medication.

UHC Community Plan Introducing New Ohio Value Pharmacy Network

  • On March 1, 2015 UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio will be introducing a new pharmacy network, Ohio Value Pharmacy Network, and members will be required to access this new network for their pharmacy benefits. The Ohio Value Pharmacy Network was created to include pharmacies that provide high quality at a great value.
  • UHC is sending members a letter that will include the steps they need to take to transfer their prescriptions to a pharmacy in the new network, and the names and addresses of up to three drug stores located in their neighborhood.
